Questions about this product? ↗

The STAPERM™ ZN-4-FW is a permanent zinc/zinc sulfate reference electrode for freshwater cathodic protection monitoring. Its color-coded housing and integral lead provide a dedicated reference point for potential measurements.

Technology and construction

A porous ceramic contact plug forms the sensing interface with the water, while the high-impact ABS tube protects the reference assembly. The integral lead connects the submerged electrode to an accessible measurement point for ongoing cathodic protection checks.

Key advantages

  • Dedicated submerged reference: A fixed installation lets operators return to the same reference location for routine measurements.
  • Ceramic contact technology: The porous plug provides ionic contact between the reference electrolyte and the surrounding water.
  • Practical installation: The integral lead and color-coded housing support straightforward connection and chemistry identification.

Applications

Freshwater tanks, freshwater dock structures and submerged structures requiring a permanent reference electrode.

Technical specifications

  • Housing: high-impact red ABS tube, 1 in. diameter × 8 in. long.
  • Contact plug: 1 in. diameter porous ceramic.
  • Lead wire: 30 ft of #14 AWG RHH-RHW yellow cable.
  • Stability: ±5 mV with a 3.0 µA load.
  • Operating temperature: 32°F to 135°F (0°C to 57.2°C).
