Questions about this product? ↗The STAPERM™ ZN-4-UG is a packaged zinc/zinc sulfate reference electrode for permanent underground cathodic protection monitoring. The electrode is surrounded by non-polarizing backfill in a red cotton bag.
Technology and construction
The reference electrode is factory packaged in a cotton bag containing specially selected non-polarizing backfill. This places a prepared contact medium around the electrode, while the high-impact ABS housing protects the internal assembly during handling and installation.
Key advantages
- Prepared electrode-to-soil interface: The packaged backfill supplies a defined contact medium immediately around the electrode.
- Simplified installation: Electrode and backfill arrive as one assembly, reducing separate material handling at the installation location.
- Long-term monitoring: The permanent configuration provides a dedicated reference point for checking buried structures over time.
- Clear chemistry identification: The colored bag helps distinguish copper, zinc and silver models during installation.
- Soil compatibility: Select this model for soils containing 200 ppm chloride or less.
Applications
Permanent monitoring of buried pipelines, underground storage tanks and other buried steel structures in suitable low-chloride soils.
