STAPERM Probe Coupon Test Station

The GMC STAPERM™ Probe Coupon Test Station combines a steel coupon, a replaceable permanent reference electrode and formulated non-organic casing mud in one underground test point. The assembly supports ON/OFF potential, instant-OFF and depolarization measurements.

Specifications and features

• High-impact, non-conductive polycarbonate test station and support/access tube.
• Bond plug disconnects the pipe-to-coupon circuit for instant-OFF testing.
• Access tube allows reference electrode installation or replacement close to the coupon.
• Two coupon leads: bond and test.
• API 5L steel ring coupons with 1, 10 or 100 cm² exposed area; two-coupon configurations available on request.
• Optional shunt for current direction and magnitude measurements.
• Available lengths: 4 to 40 ft; color options available.
• Polyethylene shrink fittings isolate the coupon; annular spaces are epoxy sealed.
• Porous ceramic contact plug protects the salt bridge and locates the sensing port 1 in. from the coupon.

The system can also support current-density, soil-resistance and corrosion-rate measurements with suitable test equipment.
